Protected by a surrounding lagoon, Lady Elliot is located in the Marine Park “Green Zone” – one of the most pristine and untouched sections of the Great Barrier Reef. 

Lady Elliot Island is regarded as one of the best diving and snorkelling locations on the Great Barrier Reef.  It is famous for its amazing water clarity (over 30m for most of the year), unspoilt coral reef and stunning array of spectacular marine life.

Lady Elliot boasts 40 resident manta rays, the best visibility on the Great Barrier Reef, 2 miles of coral beach, turtle nesting & hatching, coral spawning, moray eels, coral gardens, the Severence Shipwreck dive & a host of snorkelling & dive locations plus abundant marine and bird life.

Beach & Reef Walking

Join the Guided Reef Walk or escape to a deserted beach. Discover the marine and birdlife as you stroll around this magical and unique coral cay.  Visit the lighthouse.  Beachcomb along the 2 miles of coral beach.

Snorkel, dive or stay dry in the glass bottom boat

With amazing water visibility year round you can explore the Great Barrier Reef and marvel at the inquisitive marine life.  Swim with the abundant and inquisitive fish and keep a look out for the resident green or loggerhead turtles and manta rays.  Scuba dive the Blowhole cave or explore the Severence wreck.

Nature discovery

Be a part of the fish feeding experience in the lagoon fish pool, spot the various bird life, look for turtle hatchlings or Southern Humpback Whale sightings (season dependent), view the coral gardens, explore the living reef.
